While we must admit that the government's decision to keep the schools and churches closed was disappointing, we must remember what the prophet Isaiah declared in Isaiah 9:6... "And the government shall be upon HIS shoulders!"

FIRST QUARTER 2021---BEING STEADFAST IN AN UNSTEADY WORLD!!!
BREAKING NEWS: WE’RE MBALE BOUND MAY 4-15, 2021!!!
Please pray for our team of six Kingdom Warriors who will be charting the course for beginning to get our ministry teams back on Ugandan soil in late 2021—Mike Emeott, Frank Flournoy, Chad Cooper, Tiffany Powers, Warren Moore, Brandon Powers
STEADFASTNESS: Staying The Course! --- God is continuing to teach us how to remain steadfast in His Word and in His Works during these ever-changing times in which we are living! He has proven that HE is able to bring forth the plans that He has for us even in the midst of the global health crisis that is crippling the world! To God be ALL the glory, great things HE has done!!
It was in the midst of such instability that we welcomed in 2021 with two major projects in the works. First, the work on three new classrooms was nearing completion bringing to nine the number of classrooms now ready for use at Ebenezer Christian School. This addition was desperately needed to meet the new government requirements for classroom spacing. We covet your prayers as the staff of ECS sort through the logistics of bringing the 180+ students back on campus through a staggered reopening process which began on April 4th. It is often said that a school is the greatest platform for evangelism in Uganda!!!
The second major project in the works was the beginning of the completion phase of the new sanctuary of Ebenezer Baptist Church. This amazing work began in September 2018 as the members First Baptist Newnan graciously gave to help begin the process of building their sister church in Uganda a permanent house of worship! As 2021 rolled in, the plastering of the interior and exterior walls of the church was nearing completion. Even as we celebrated this milestone, excitement was filling the air as we awaited the beginning of a Challenge Grant Campaign with First Baptist Newnan during the month of February to complete the work that this great church had begun in 2018. At the writing of this update, the laying of the new terrazzo flooring is almost complete, and soon the painting and the installation of the glass in the windows and doors will begin. Upon completion of the church facility, this powerful ministry hub that began as a church plant with five families in September 2006 will be positioned to minister to the 30,000 plus people who live within a one-half mile radius of the church as never before! God is moving mountains in the Namatala Slum because of your faithfulness to stand with Him! . May God’s Kingdom be expanded greatly through this beautiful testimony of God’s people joining together to make His name known to ALL people!
As 2021 continues to unfold, God remains faithful in His commitment to meet every need for the Kingdom work being carried out in Mbale. It is this all-knowing God who saw and revealed yet another great need developing as school prepared to begin re-opening … a new Kitchen/Dining Hall/Multi-purpose facility for Ebenezer Christian School. This new addition will equip ECS with a modern kitchen capable of preparing multiple meals daily for 450+ students, as well as a large Dining Hall that will provide a comfortable gathering spot for the students and residents that will be completely accessible from the classrooms and dorms through covered walkways. The plans for the second floor which will be built over the Dining Hall include a 3000+ square foot Conference Hall, as well as a state-of-the-art Computer Lab and Learning Center. It may also become the home for the planned school library as hundreds of books are about to leave a warehouse in Atlanta headed to Mbale through our partnership with Books For Africa. PRAYERS are coveted as we move forward with this construction as the fund-raising for this major project is on-going. PRAISES are also in order because God continues to provide abundantly and the construction is moving forward without interruption…ONLY GOD!!! Let us know if you are interested in being a vessel of God’s abundance!!
And just when we thought God was moving in enough different directions, He unfolded a plan that He was about to “make a way in the wilderness” for a thriving, but struggling church in the foothills of Mt. Elgon some 30 miles from Mbale. This is one of the 27 churches that Pastor Fred planted on the slopes of Mt. Elgon in the early years of his ministry. In late February we received word that First Baptist in Colquitt, GA was committing to fund the construction of a new 3000 square foot church for the members of Ushindi Baptist Church whose building was condemned by the authorities earier this year. Their shepherd, Pastor Christopher, was supported in his dream to attend seminary through a joint sponsorship between Warren’s father, Hill Moore, and his pastor, Chad Cooper of FBC Colquitt. This commitment was formed during a visit by Chad to the home of Warren’s parents in October 2017. Although Warren’s father went to be with His Lord a few months later, the sponsorship was fulfilled and Christopher graduated in February 2020. Chad will be a part of the upcoming trip in May and will be able to witness first hand the results of his church stepping out in faith and trusting God to provide that which they had committed on faith. AND PROVIDED HE HAS … Through ways that can only be attributed to an all-powerful and gracious God, the funds needed to complete this church have already been raised…WHAT A MIGHTY GOD WE SERVE! HALLELUJAH!
