DoTerra Helping Hands Challenge - Goal Exceeded!!

We are overjoyed to announce that our Helping Hands giving campaign through doTerra was a huge success!  Our Mission Mbale friends and family, together with the amazing folks of doTerra, collected  $11,580 in donations.  Combined with doTerra's matching offer, we raised a total of $21,580!!!  We give all praise and glory to the Lord, as He continues to provide for every need as we prepare to open the doors of Ebenezer Christian School in Mbale, Uganda.  And we thank you so much for your generosity, support and prayers!  And we want to say a special word of thanks to Joy Tarpley for her passion for ministry, her leadership in this fundraising endeavor, and her love for Jesus and the people of Mbale!

WHEN GOD BUSTS LOOSE ... IT'S GONNA BE A WILD RIDE!!!

Ephesians 3:14-21 (NIV)


14 "For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.  20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen."

There really is not a better passage of scripture to describe what God is allowing us to be a part of in Mbale, Uganda!   We truly are humbled to the point of kneeling before the Father as we watch Him continue to do the thing that He does best ... THE IMPOSSIBLE!!

The past few weeks have been filled with the goodness of God in so many beautiful ways which powerfully point to the fact that HE truly has chosen to "do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine"!  Life has been wide-open for Mary Faye and I as God has literally blessed us to overflowing over the past several weeks with the birth of a new grandson, Nathanael James Kough; the awesome response of the God's people to the doTERRA Healing Hands Matching Grant to help continue the work on Ebenezer Christian School; and finally, the unbelievable progress made in the past month to the building of the permanant church in the slum village!!!  As the song from the seventies says: "How can I say thanks, for the things You have done for me; Things so undeserved, yet You gave to prove Your love for me..." 

Unbelievable; Amazing; Unimaginable; Crazy Good; Powerful; etc.  We are absolutely at a loss for words to adequately describe what we have watched God do in our midst in these past few weeks as He continues to multiply the fruits of our labors along side of Ebenezer Baptist Church in the heart of the Namatala Slum.  

As you browse through the attached photos of the progress of the work in Mbale, bear in mind that on September 6 there was a 40' x 60' tent in the middle of the property where there is now a 45' x 150' L-shaped concrete slab built on a foundation designed to support three floors.  You will see in the pictures that the exterior walls of the ground floor which will house a 750-seat sanctuary as well as office and classroom space are now rising above the foundation as the permanent church building that the members of Ebenezer Baptist Church have been praying for begins to take shape!

In God's perfect timing we are believing that the second floor will be added to house a state-of-the-art medical facility which will be dedicated to helping meet the medical needs of those who otherwise would not be able to get medical treatment because of the poverty in which they live. 

About two years ago, Mike Emeott and I were shown a copy of the vision that Pastor Fred and the leadership of Ebenezer Baptist had for the development of that small plot of land where the worship tent and Children's Shelter would occupy for the better part of three years.  I must admit that neither he nor I had enough vision or faith to embrace their dream so God had to just move forward and over the past couple of years has grown the faith of so many of us in the Mission Mbale family to the point where now we "have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge", and now with each passing day we are being "filled to the measure of all the fullness of God".  My friends, it just doesn't get much better than that!!!

As for the doTERRA Healing Hands Challenge, we still have until October 26 to reach the $10,000.00 goal of which doTERRA will match dollar for dollar and at last check WE ARE AT $5925.00 ON OUR WAY TO THE $10,000 GOAL!!!
