What a Wonder

We’ve been waiting for just the right moment to share a precious letter that we received from our brother in Uganda, George.  Valentine’s Day week just has to be the perfect time to extend this beautiful expression of love to all of our Mission Mbale family.  Just to receive it and share it with you is so incredibly humbling.  Our friends at Ebenezer say so many times, “Thank you for loving us.”  Will they ever know the length and depth of the change that the Lord is working in our hearts just by their love for us?  All at once we are so convicted, so humbled, so challenged, so beautifully accepted, and so blessed.  What a wonder, indeed.

Greetings to you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.  May the peace and love of our Lord Jesus Christ that surpasses all human understanding continue to reign over there, especially in the church.

I, W. George Washington, have written to you on behalf of my family and on behalf of the entire church to tell you honestly that we cannot and we can never find words enough to appreciate the love you have shown us.  1 Thessalonians 3:9, “how can we thank God enough for you, brethren!”

All we can do is continue praying for you that the almighty God will continue to love you, protect you, and above all prepare you everyday for Heaven.  As a family, you are the source of hope that comes from God.  We love you so so much and we hope that God will keep you safe for us as we continue serving Him.

Papa Warren, greet everyone openly and share with them our love.  What a wonder to have met you! May you live to see God’s goodness in this land of the living.  I ask that you sing hymn 174, Coming Home.  We will be happy to hear that you sang it.

Thank you,

W. George Washington

God Be With You.

STILLNESS--CURSE OR CALLING?

"This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: 'ONLY in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and and confidence is your strength...BUT YOU WOULD HAVE NONE OF IT!" Isaiah 30:15 NLT

As I wander my way through the forth week of being immersed in the culture of my Ugandan family, it has been good...VERY GOOD!!

I sit here among a maze of tree trunks writing this post and relishing what God has taught me here. No, I'm not sitting in the stillness of a cool mountain forest with the gentle breezes carrying away every care... I'm sitting in the middle of the unfinished shell of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Mbale, Uganda amongst the sea of cris-crossed tree trunks placed there to support the forms for the concrete slab which is to be the roof...a slab that was supposed to be finished almost a month ago.

I hear your thoughts now..."But Warren, I thought you said things were VERY GOOD!" AND I DID!!☺️

You see, God chose to use a series of circumstances to bring a halt to my "best laid plans" in order for me to be quiet before Him but I "would have none of it!"

My question for you on this Saturday morning..."What is God doing, or going to have to do in your life to cause you to embrace stillness?"

God says stillness is a gift He desires to bless His children with... Our rat-race culture has been deceived by the enemy into believing that stillness is a curse!

Choose you this day whom you will serve, but as for me and my house...We will serve the Lord!

"Be still and know that I am God"

From the stillness of an unfinished church building in Uganda... PEACE♥️

IT'S HERE... OPENING DAY OF CLASSES FOR 100 STUDENTS AT EBENEZER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL!!!

We've prayed, we've dreamed, and God has answered!!! To HIM be ALL the glory ☺️❤️ While most of you were sleeping Ebenezer Christian School opened it's doors and a new ministry was birthed. God truly does continue to shower us with grace upon grace and His mercies are truly new every morning.

Today over 100 children in grades Primary 1 through Primary 4 will begin their journey of a quality Christian education with the gospel of Jesus Christ and God's Word at the foundation of their classroom studies.

Please pray with us as this is a huge leap of faith because a majority of these children are there only because someone in America has chosen to sponsor them. Most would have never been able to attend school because of their being orphans and/or they are from a family environment in which even the basic life essentials such as food and adequate shelter are not guaranteed from day to day.

Beyond the hope found in Christ Jesus which is the main reason we are here, education is one of the few means that these children which God has called us to love have of a brighter tomorrow. The reality though funds for school fees are not an option so the hopelessness continues to build.

We continue to trust God for sponsors for the precious children of the villages that God has called us to join Him in serving as it is these sponsorships which will allow us to continue to impact their lives at deeper and deeper levels for Christ.

Thank you for choosing to stand with as prayer warriors. Your battles on the front lines are yielding HUGE victories and we are beyond blessed to have you serving with us.

More pictures to come as well as the introduction to the teachers ☺️πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¬❤️

And YES, YES, YES...GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!

BIRTHDAY BIBLES!!!

As I wake up this morning, a day in which I celebrate my 62nd year of walking on this Earth, my heart is full. Why?... because as I turn 62, I am experiencing a joy and fulfillment in life that Mary Faye and I never saw coming!!

You see, this morning I woke up to celebrate my "rite of passage" into old age by having Tirzah sing Happy Birthday to me as she lay next to her Nana in our bed some 9000 miles away in America.

Yes, I would love to be home getting hugs and kisses from my family, especially from the most wonderful bride in the world...but for this season of our lives God has chosen for me to be with my Ugandan family on this special day ☺️❤️πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¬

For today my gift will be that of sitting under a Mango tree with some of the most awesome young people I have ever met just talking about Jesus ❤️

This is where "BIRTHDAY BIBLES" comes into the picture because most of these young people don't have Bibles of their own, AND neither do the multitudes of Muslim people who occupy the majority of the homes in the village surrounding the new school who are giving their hearts to Jesus on a daily basis!

My birthday prayer is that you will go to our website and make a donation to purchase "BIRTHDAY BIBLES" that I will be able to begin distributing during the next three weeks that I am here ☺️ Thanks in advance for giving the most precious gift of all... GOD'S WORD ☺️

There's an old gospel song from the 70's that pretty much sums up where I am in my life journey and it's chorus goes something like this..."The longer I serve Him the sweeter He grows; The more that I love Him, more love He bestows. Each day is like heaven, my heart overflows; The longer I serve Him, the sweeter He grows!"

ALL FOR HIS GLORY!!!
