2019 IN REVIEW—REFLECTING AND REJOICING!!!
“The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouses of His bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands.” Deuteronomy 28:12
REFLECTING AND REJOICING…WOW!!! God has proven over and over throughout this amazing year that HE is the Master of the impossible! Truly, 2019 has been a year in which God has chosen to have us trust Him at a new level in order to accomplish the seemingly impossible task of completing the three new classrooms at Ebenezer Christian School by the start of the new school year on February 3, 2020.
Opening day at ECS is going to be so exciting as we add Grade 5! The door has also been opened for us to bring twenty-five (YES…25!!!) new residents onto the campus bringing to 61 the number of students who will be living on site full-time!!! An additional 33 first-time students will be there for the opening bell to raise the total number of full-time students to 130…UNBELIEVABLE! “Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, just take Him at His Word…”
So much else could be said but the rest of this newsletter is simply going to be a VERY ABBREVIATED recap of the miracles of 2019. God bless each of you who have made these miracles possible through your prayers, your donations, your Child Sponsorships, and your presence on the mission field. You have honored God through your obedience to act upon His call upon your life to be involved in this work!! Because of your faithfulness in 2019, OVER 100 new lives have been added to God’s family!!!! To God be ALL the glory! For a more in-depth look into this amazing journey please go to our website at missionmbale.org.
JANUARY—Thirteen team members traveled to Mbale to share the Gospel through in-home Bible studies, village prayer walks, sports camps, and worship services. The on-going construction on Ebenezer’s new sanctuary was truly a sight to behold!
FEBRUARY—Ebenezer Christian School (ECS) opened its doors in the heart of the Muslim village of Namabasa as the inaugural class of 73 students in Grades 1-4 walked into their new school for the first time on February 4.
MARCH—The roof slab for the new sanctuary was completed and the prep work began to ready the unfinished shell into a viable worship center as windows and doors were placed.
APRIL—Though far from being finished, Easter Celebrations were held in the new sanctuary! Even in its unfinished state, the church building is now a major hub for ministry activity in the Namatala Slum! As an added blessing, the children’s feeding program continued to grow! We continue to pray for provisions to complete the sanctuary!
MAY—Flooding and famine ravaged the villages served by Ebenezer but God’s love flowed deeper than the flood waters as food, clothing, Bibles, and love were shared with those impacted by the harsh conditions.
JUNE— Through God’s blessings, plans were unfolded for the beginning of construction of three new permanent classrooms at ECS! The family of Ebenezer banded together to cook and feed hundreds from the villages of Namatala and Namabasa as flooding continued.
JULY—Twenty-five team members embarked to Mbale to serve and worship with our Ebenezer family in their new sanctuary. We rejoiced in the baptism of 57 new Christians, hosted the annual Pastor’s Conference, held Christ-centered sports camps, Women’s Bible studies, and shared the Gospel throughout both villages at in-home Bible studies. ECS has grown to 91 students who blessed us with a special program of music and dance. Our American teachers were beyond blessed as they taught in the classrooms of ECS. We joined with Ebenezer Christian Ministries to begin a three-year intensive training program led by Pastor Fred to provide in-depth Biblical training to local indigenous pastors!
AUGUST—The school was blessed by a vast array of new musical instruments donated to provide the foundation for a music education program. Music is the heart-beat of life here!
SEPTEMBER—A new church was planted at the school by Ebenezer Baptist Church and is already exceeding 150 in attendance each Sunday and includes many weekday programs.
OCTOBER—A team of eight missionaries arrived in Mbale to continue God’s work in that beautiful place…our third team this year!! We witnessed 33 baptisms and received more requests from Muslim men to come and pray over their homes than we could honor. Warren received a very special blessing when presented a rooster by a leading Muslim family symbolizing our acceptance in this predominately Muslim village! ONLY GOD!!!
NOVEMBER—After many months of preparation, the new “One Child At A Time Sponsorship Program” link officially became our one-stop location to view our children who need sponsors, choose your child, arrange your monthly donation, and begin changing lives.
DECEMBER—God has especially proven His intentions of continuing the work in Mbale through an unbelievable outpouring from those He has chosen to be a part of the Mission Mbale family. WE TRULY DO SERVE AN ALL-SUFFICIENT GOD!!
Thank you again for your faithfulness to continue to stand with us in ministry to the beautiful people of Mbale, Uganda in 2019! 2020 is already shaping up to be another amazing year and we are blessed to know that we are surrounded by the greatest group of Prayer Warriors and supporters EVER!! Continue praying as our first team of the new decade will depart on February 11, 2020. This awesome team of fifteen committed Kingdom Warriors will continue the work that God has called us to join Him in doing in Mbale!
