The Mission Mbale family welcomed 2020 with open arms and big visions as we reflected back on one of our most amazing years yet in ministry to the precious people of Mbale, Uganda! We were excited about the three mission trips that were on the calendar, as well as the many opportunities before us to expand the school, as well as the plans to continue the completion of the sanctuary. Above all was the excitement about the new opportunities that were opening up to share the Gospel with the residents of Namatala and Namabasa. With each trip these villages are becoming more receptive of our presence there, but more importantly to the love of Jesus.
Our February trip was beyond amazing as God worked in a powerful way through the lives of the thirteen team members which made the trip. We were there to welcome 160+ students as they excitedly celebrated the start of the second year of Ebenezer Christian School. We also visited many homes and conducted in-home Bible studies, many times in the homes of Muslim families.
In mid-March, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the president of Uganda issued an order closing all schools, churches, public transportation, and a majority of the small businesses. He placed the country in total lockdown, forbidding anyone from being on the streets…even to go to work. We found ourselves asking God “What do we do now, Lord?”, and He wasted no time in revealing to us the plans HE had for 2020…FEED MY LAMBS! Thanks to the faithfulness of our amazing supporters, the foundation was in place to meet the hunger crisis that was emerging. The first food distribution took place on April 1st.
AS A RESULT OF YOUR CONTINUED FAITHFULNESS:
- Over 35,000 people have been blessed through these food distributions through the end of 2020
- FBC Newnan Youth raised funds to purchase over 80 Bibles for the youth of Ebenezer
- A motorcycle was donated to assist in bi-weekly delivery of lesson assignments and food for students
- 45+ indigenous mountain churches reopened by your gifts of Thermometer guns, sanitizer, and PPE
BUT things didn’t end there…November was filled with more praises as the construction of three new classrooms on the second floor of Ebenezer Christian School began. These additions were only dreams when we sent out the October Updates and NOW are nearing completion as this letter is written! PTL

CHALLENGE GRANT CAMPAIGN IN FEBRUARY 2021!!
PRAISE GOD, in December, God blessed Mission Mbale with a $40,000 Challenge Grant to assist in the completion of the sanctuary of Ebenezer Baptist Church. In addition, we were blessed with year-end contributions that enabled us to begin the plastering of the interior and exterior of the church. This crucial step is nearly complete and will provide protection from damage when the rainy season begins in February and will provide a huge jump-start for the Challenge Grant Campaign!
