PRAYERS NEEDED FOR OUR UGANDAN FAMILY!

Please take a moment when you get see this to lift the precious people of Mbale to the Lord in prayer!  The rains that should have come in late February were over a month late and the planting of the first crops were delayed causing a severe food shortage.  The crops were finally able to be planted and have just begun blooming and now the rains are causing massive flooding and are so torrential that there is a great risk that the blooms will be damaged.  As a result, the first season of beans, maize, and potatoes which are staple foods for so many in the Mbale are at risk of being lost and there is a severe food shortage in the village and among the membership of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

The floods have also cut off the roads to Namabasa where Ebenezer Christian School is located and therefore has disrupted classes for many of the students who ride the bus daily from the church in Namatala. BUT, ministry goes on as the feeding of the children each day continues and as food is available, food bags are put together to pass out to those who are suffering in the villages surrounding the church as the pictures below will show. And ALL the time God is good!

The following email from Julius, the executive pastor of Ebenezer Baptist, details the plight that the people are encountering as a result of the current conditions there.  Please pray with us and if you feel led to donate to help with the feeding of the people that Ebenezer is doing, both children and adults, you can follow the PayPal link on the webpage and just enter in the "Special Instructions" link the words: "FOR FAMINE RELIEF". You can also mail your tax deductible gift to Mission Mbale to P.O. Box 73975, Newnan GA 30271 One hundred percent of the money designated in this way will be wired to Ebenezer Baptist to help underwrite the costs of filling the emergency food bags that the members have been preparing for those suffering from hunger in the villages of Namatala and Namabasa.

God bless you as you stand with us in prayer for the people of Ebenezer and the Namatala Slum!

ALL FOR HIS GLORY,

Warren and Mary Faye

Greetings Papa Warren,

I write this email to;

#1. officially put on record that the people of Namatala in particular  ( and members of Ebenezer Baptist Church inclusive) are seriously hit by famine at the moment;

#2. Seek for your prayers for the people of Namatala - Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Famine is very common in Uganda at a time like this especially in slum areas and in Semi - arid areas of  Karamoja and Teso regions. At this period of time, the prices of food are high. Worse for this year, the rains delayed meaning the planting time was delayed and so will the harvest time. Usually at this time some people begin harvesting beans. However, in most gardens, beans are just flowering. It will take about 3 to 4 weeks from now for the food to come to the market and the prices to start dropping.

Our people in Namatala we know are sleeping without meals even some members of the church. The children too are affected including those attending Ebenezer Christian School. Most times they end up with the food they eat at the school for lunch. When they reach their homes, they sleep hungry until the following day.

We are also praying that it will not continue to rain the way it is now as too much rain will destroy crops in the gardens especially when they are flowering.

And prayers are much more coveted for our people in Bududa who are displaced by the mudslides. Some of them have died and others can not be traced.

Thank you so much,

Julius

What a Wonder

We’ve been waiting for just the right moment to share a precious letter that we received from our brother in Uganda, George.  Valentine’s Day week just has to be the perfect time to extend this beautiful expression of love to all of our Mission Mbale family.  Just to receive it and share it with you is so incredibly humbling.  Our friends at Ebenezer say so many times, “Thank you for loving us.”  Will they ever know the length and depth of the change that the Lord is working in our hearts just by their love for us?  All at once we are so convicted, so humbled, so challenged, so beautifully accepted, and so blessed.  What a wonder, indeed.

Greetings to you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.  May the peace and love of our Lord Jesus Christ that surpasses all human understanding continue to reign over there, especially in the church.

I, W. George Washington, have written to you on behalf of my family and on behalf of the entire church to tell you honestly that we cannot and we can never find words enough to appreciate the love you have shown us.  1 Thessalonians 3:9, “how can we thank God enough for you, brethren!”

All we can do is continue praying for you that the almighty God will continue to love you, protect you, and above all prepare you everyday for Heaven.  As a family, you are the source of hope that comes from God.  We love you so so much and we hope that God will keep you safe for us as we continue serving Him.

Papa Warren, greet everyone openly and share with them our love.  What a wonder to have met you! May you live to see God’s goodness in this land of the living.  I ask that you sing hymn 174, Coming Home.  We will be happy to hear that you sang it.

Thank you,

W. George Washington

God Be With You.

STILLNESS--CURSE OR CALLING?

"This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: 'ONLY in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and and confidence is your strength...BUT YOU WOULD HAVE NONE OF IT!" Isaiah 30:15 NLT

As I wander my way through the forth week of being immersed in the culture of my Ugandan family, it has been good...VERY GOOD!!

I sit here among a maze of tree trunks writing this post and relishing what God has taught me here. No, I'm not sitting in the stillness of a cool mountain forest with the gentle breezes carrying away every care... I'm sitting in the middle of the unfinished shell of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Mbale, Uganda amongst the sea of cris-crossed tree trunks placed there to support the forms for the concrete slab which is to be the roof...a slab that was supposed to be finished almost a month ago.

I hear your thoughts now..."But Warren, I thought you said things were VERY GOOD!" AND I DID!!☺️

You see, God chose to use a series of circumstances to bring a halt to my "best laid plans" in order for me to be quiet before Him but I "would have none of it!"

My question for you on this Saturday morning..."What is God doing, or going to have to do in your life to cause you to embrace stillness?"

God says stillness is a gift He desires to bless His children with... Our rat-race culture has been deceived by the enemy into believing that stillness is a curse!

Choose you this day whom you will serve, but as for me and my house...We will serve the Lord!

"Be still and know that I am God"

From the stillness of an unfinished church building in Uganda... PEACE♥️
