30 Days of Prayer, Day Two: That They May Be One

"I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me."  John 17:23

In the hours before His arrest, crucifixion, and resurrection, Jesus prayed for us.  His heart’s desire was that we would be unified by His great love for us.  The power of unity in this love is greater than anything that Satan might use to try to divide us.  It transcends race, ethnicity, and nationality.  Through this love, the Lord has brought together two different congregations, in two different countries, on two different continents for one singular purpose.

Gracious and Loving Father, we praise you for the powerful way you have united Ebenezer Baptist Church in Mbale, Uganda and First Baptist Church in Newnan, Georgia.  We know that Your ways are higher than our ways, and we stand amazed by the works of Your loving hand.  Help us, O Lord, and protect us from Satan’s efforts to divide us.  Keep us unified by your love as we pursue Your will in sharing Your love with a lost and dying world.  Amen.
